As soon as the holidays are over, most people, especially in the The Northern United States, are ready to move on and back to nice weather. Or in some cases finding a way to enjoy the weather they have been given. When it’s cold, snowy, and dreary out, getting away is one of the best ways to pass the winter.

Warm:

The British Virgin Islands

Enjoy a warm beach getaway surrounded by blue water in the Virgin Islands. There are many resorts to choose from and many excursions to try when you are escaping the winter.

Hawaii

Hawaii is fun of things to do and scenery to see. You can hike, drive a jeep over the big island, spend time at the beach, or visit nature at its best. You will not run out of things to do in Hawaii, and you won’t even remember how cold it is back at your home when you are enjoying Hawaii.

Florida

There are so many places to visit in Florida in the winter. One of those in Miami. Why leave the United States for the winter when you can visit the beaches, not the west coast, east coast, or tip of the state in Miami. Where you stay will determine your activities. A quiet beach town will give you the quiet, book reading, beach getaway. Or a lively city will give you a warm, fun, exciting experience. You can also visit the Florida Keys and enjoy the ultimate island getaway.

California

Lots of people head to Palm Springs to enjoy golf, spas, hot springs, and shopping. The daytime temperatures make winter in Palm Springs lovely to be in, and the views couldn’t be better.

New York City

Even before the holidays, New York City is very fun to visit with the Rockafeller center, the holiday lights, the Christmas tree, and more. After the holidays you may be able to spend time in the city when it has a good snowfall. Enjoy shopping and the local attractions or Broadway shows.

Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming

Even in the winter, Yellowstone is a beautiful place to visit. Seeing Old Faithful geyser in the winter is magical. The best part is you will miss all of the crowds. You will want to watch traveling since they typically get a lot of snow, making certain roads impassable.

Greenland

Seeing this icy island in person is amazing. You can visit the glaciers, see the countryside and enjoy such an untouched landscape.

Lake Tahoe

Some of the best ski slopes in the country are located in Lake Tahoe. Enjoy the winter getaway city just above Reno, NV. Stay in a cabin and ski during the day, and cook out by the fire at night.

Vermont

Head to the northeast to enjoy some amazing ski resorts, shopping restaurants, and more. There are many places to stay in Vermont and some great slopes for all levels of skiing.
