Six Fun Careers for Outgoing People

For introverts, you have plenty of careers that allow work from home, or can be done in seclusion. What about those of us who prefer a more outgoing and active career? A job where you get to put your high energy and assertiveness to good use?

1. Disney Park and Theme Park Actor

What’s better than making other people and children happy at the happiest place on earth? Some job requirements at Disney make the job very unique such as if you are a character, you can’t tell anyone you are. Along with a small list of these “keep the magic” rules, if you are outgoing and want to have fun while working, Disney is it! 

You must be 18 years of age and authorized to work in the United States. If you are a character, there may be a height requirement for that specific job. Generally, it’s 4’6” to 6’3”. Typically they want someone slender or athletic built for character actions, and you must resemble the character in some way. That means looks, height, and personality. Of course, you better have high energy levels and basic coordination with music. Some acting experience is very helpful, but strong acting abilities are even better.

2. Animal Groomer

Love working with animals? As an animal groomer, you must have a high school diploma or GED at a minimum. However, there are now certificates and associate degrees that are tailored to animal grooming. As an animal groomer, you must have energy, be able to interact with the customer, and love four-legged friends. 

Most animal groomers work on dogs, so you have to be able to handle all types of breeds and know how to deal with more difficult dogs. You have to know how to trim each type of hair on each dog breed and treat basic ear and nail issues. This is a great job for someone who is fun and outgoing.

3. Animal Trainer

An animal trainer usually needs a high school diploma or GED at a minimum, but a bachelor’s degree is required in some cases. For canine training, you may want to also spend a few years learning how to train. The other version of this is aquatic animals. 

From dogs, dolphins, whales, sea lions, horses, and more with an outgoing personality this job would be perfect. Animals respond well to happy and friendly people. Maybe you also have to present in front of an audience or group. This would require that you are able to interact with all types of people, keep their attention, and make your job look fun.

4. Preschool Teacher

Typically an associate’s degree is required for a preschool teacher. Children respond to happy, energetic people. If you are outgoing, there is nothing better than hanging out with fun little humans all day. 

You have to be able to handle all types of personalities, think on your feet, child safety and child care. It’s also important that you have good communication skills so you can interact with other teachers and parents throughout the day. This is a great job for an energetic person.

5. Coach

You may enjoy volunteering and using your outgoing personality and expertise on a little league or high school sports team. However, if you coach at the college or professional level you will want to have a bachelor’s degree. 

As a coach, you have to know about physiology, kinesiology, nutrition and fitness, physical education, and sports medicine, but you also need to be kind, friendly, and energetic. You are usually constantly moving, possibly speaking loudly, and you should be having fun while doing it. Being a coach is rewarding in so many ways. This is a great career choice for someone who wants to interact with people all day long and teach them a sport.

6. Sommelier

A sommelier may be responsible for developing wine lists and books and for delivering wine service and training for the other restaurant staff. Working with the culinary team, they pair and suggest wines that will best complement each particular food menu item. 

This is for someone that is outgoing and has strong interpersonal skills. This requires a deep knowledge of how food and wine, beer, spirits, and other beverages work in harmony. A sommelier also works on the floor of the restaurant and directly assists customers with wine choices.

Becoming a professional certified sommelier requires a combination of experience, training, and formal education ( bachelor’s degree or two-year associate degree). It is possible to become a sommelier by starting at the hospitality or wine industry entry-level and working up. A wide range of educators offers various certifications. This is a fun career for someone who is outgoing and also enjoys the science behind wine.
