This 2-Year-Old Knows How to Cook

The average two-year-old is great at mischief but doesn’t necessarily have any marketable life skills. That’s pretty normal. What life skills do you need at that age beyond learning to share and finger painting?

THIS two-year-old, however, is anything but average.

Susie hosts her own cooking show, and her channel is super family-friendly. It’s a fun way to sit down with the kids in your life and help them see that even the littlest young ones can have fun in the kitchen.

Want to enjoy a little kid-safe food science in your own kitchen? Dive into these three delectable — and toddler-friendly — recipes.

#1 Chocolate-Dipped Banana Pops

Sweet but simple, these frozen treats are a slam-dunk with toddlers of all participation levels. Stick a popsicle stick inside the banana and dip it in chocolate. You can even roll it around in toppings. Crushed Oreos, sprinkles, or nuts all make delicious additions to this treat. Just add it to the freezer and wait for it to harden.

#2 Texas Toast Pizza

This recipe is simple and delicious. Purchase Texas Toast, and your toddler can add the pizza toppings. Choose a red or white sauce, sprinkle cheese or your cheese-friendly alternative and add your favorite toppings. To make this an even healthier choice, you can substitute sliced zucchini for toast.

#3 Peanut Butter Banana Quesadillas

Try a different take on the peanut butter and banana combo for an easy snack or lunch. All you need is tortillas, peanut butter (or peanut butter alternative), bananas, and chocolate chips. Spread peanut butter on the tortilla, top half the tortilla with banana slices and chocolate chips, and fold it in half. Cook it in a skillet to serve it hot or roll it up to eat it cold. Either way, this delicious meal is easy to make with toddlers.
